Honor student recognition committee
Ms. Celestine Dunmore’s career is marked by a wealth of experience from reputable organizations. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Florida A& M University. During her time at Florida A&M University in the School of Business and Industry (SBI), Ms. Dunmore served as an intern tax accountant at DuPont Corporation in Wilmington, Delaware and accounting intern at Adolph Coors in Golden, Colorado. In 2000, Ms. Dunmore enrolled in Nova Southeastern University and earned a Master’s degree in Public Administration. Ms. Dunmore has enjoyed the experience of working in the non-profit, for-profit and governmental sector. Her career began with the Minority Business Council (MBC) which provided technical assistance to include business plan preparation, loan application and marketing consultation. Ten years later, Ms. Dunmore continues to hear about the success of former MBC clients. In 1993, Ms. Dunmore was selected to work for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - Community Development Resource Center (NAACP CDRC) where she worked for six years. In her capacity as the Community Housing Specialist, the Florida NAACP CDRC generated over $1 million in consumer and business lending. After working with the NAACP CDRC, Ms. Dunmore began working as a Community Development Specialist with the City of Lauderdale Lakes. Through her efforts to partner with businesses and other organizations throughout Broward County, several neighborhood improvement programs were established with much success. This afforded Ms. Dunmore the opportunity to become the Assistant to the City Manager in 2003 where she worked with senior level staff to achieve the established goals of the City of Lauderdale Lakes. Currently, Ms. Dunmore serves as the Economic Development Officer of the City of Lauderdale Lakes. Ms. Dunmore’s business repertoire, highlighted by experience and studies in community/economic development, housing and accounting has enabled her to provide a unique approach to promoting business development within the City. Using a holistic approach to engage the residential and business community has resulted in a greater awareness of the merits of business expansion and redevelopment opportunities within the City of Lauderdale Lakes. Ms. Dunmore enjoys volunteering her time to work with children and seniors. In addition to working as the liaison for the City of Lauderdale Lakes School Advisory Board, she has participated in programs namely Kids Voting Broward. She has voluntarily initiated community projects and solicited individuals to help senior citizens or disadvantaged individuals. Celestine Dunmore is a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is married to husband, Elijah.
Dr. Ischaji Robertson is a licensed psychologist with offices in Broward and Dade Counties. He completed his doctoral work, earning a PsyD (Doctor of Psychology), at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Psychology in 1998. He completed an internship with a focus on children and adults at Indiana University School of Medicine. His clinical work focuses on evaluations, therapy, and workshops on helping people to improve their mood and performance in various settings. He enjoys soccer, football, and politics.
