 Ralph Johnson is Professor of Architecture and Director of the Center for the Conservation of Architectural and Cultural Heritage (CCACH), in the School of Architecture at Florida Atlantic University (FAU). The School of Architecture offers a unique opportunity to fuse the education of design with that of historical and cultural landscapes. He is a long standing participant in the field of historic preservation as an educator, advocate, and consultant. In 1998, Professor Johnson completed several terms, almost 7 years, as a member of the Board of Trustees, Florida Trust for Historic Preservation. He was formally President of the Miami-Dade County Historic Preservation Board and also a member of the Board of Directors, Dade Heritage Trust in Miami. While at the University of Florida as the Assistant Dean of the College of Architecture, he was the director of the Research and Education Center for Historic Preservation (RECAP) and served as the liaison to the College's other preservation programs including the Preservation Institute: Nantucket (PI:N) and the Preservation Institute: Caribbean (PI:C). He studied Architectural Conservation at ICROM in Rome and has conducted research in historic preservation at sites throughout the greater Caribbean Region such as Florida, Cuba, the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, and Mexico. Professor Johnson received his M.Arch., Yale University and B.Arch., Howard University.
 

 

Dorothy Holmes, Ph.D.

Dr. Dorothy Holmes has been an active supporter and volunteer participant with AASF since its first Success Summit in 2000. She has reviewed most research papers presented by grant recipients and served as a panelist to discuss the implications of this research at several Success Summits.

Dr. Holmes is a licensed psychologist with specialized training and experience in clinical and forensic psychology. She has worked with youth since 1981 and currently serves as a psychologist in the Delinquency and Dependency Court in South Florida. Dr. Holmes has special interest in HIV and AIDS, and provides substance abuse counseling and psychotherapy. to victims. She is Immediate Past President of the South Florida Chapter of the Association of Black Psychologists, serves as its current Treasurer, and is an active participant in the national Association of Black Psychologists.

 

Mr. Anthony Brooks

Mr. Brooks served on the 2003 Grant Selection Committee and provided valuable input from his perspective as a school administrator. He is Assistant Principal of Miami Jackson Senior High School in Miami, FL and has been a helpful volunteer and supporter of AASF activities for several years.
